Don't forget your dues for 2001. The key card slot has been changed for the new year. Those who have not paid their dues will be unable to gain entrance to the Canteen. You can avoid this yearly chore by becoming a Life Member for only one half the regular fee. Check with the Quartermaster, or any officer, for details.

Please remember we have guards on the doors for our protection, so treat them with respect as they are only doing what is best for the Post.

WASHINGTON BALL

VFW Lorain County Council's annual affair will be on Sat. Feb. 17th hosted by Lorain Post 451. Check with the Post for tickets and information.

DEATH NOTICE

It would be greatly appreciated if the family of a deceased member reported this occurrence to the Post along with DATE & CAUSE. The Post makes a donation to CANCER RESEARCH in honor of those who succumb to this dreadful disease. There are times when the notice is not published locally, or it is missed. Please try to help

The Post was donated an Electric Wheelchair (Invacare Mod WDF-1999) never used, complete with charger, etc. Original price $4100. Donor has given us permission to sell and use the money for repair parts for our hospital equip. We will accept any reasonable offer. If interested, call Cmdr Blaine, 365-8500.

Reminder that lunch is available at reasonable prices every day, Monday thru Friday from 11 a.m to 2 p.m.. Stop in and try our (1079 Burger). It's the Greatest!

MEMBERSHIP

I know that you are tired of seeing this in every Newsletter, so, if you will pay your dues, you won't see it anymore. We wish to thank all that have paid up to now. We are now standing at 93%; there are still 70 that haven't paid. So please, if you are one of these and would like to help your Auxiliary, please send your dues of $18.00 to our membership chairman, Cathy Eckhart c/o the Post. Thank you. We really need to be 100% before the year ends in June.

VOICE OF DEMOCRACY

At the banquet on Jan 13th our Post honored the Winners of this essay contest. We, the members of the Auxiliary, would like to Congratulate all that entered the contest this year. We had winners from the Vocational School, Elyria High, and First Baptist. Each student received awards and citations. Our special guests were Past Department Commander, Jim Dickens and his wife, Nola, Distr 9 Cmdr Bill Ohlemacher and his wife, and Distr 9 Pres Lisa Garcia, State Aux Chairman Sonja Limer and husband Don, and Distr 9 Chairman Sue Madden and husband, Jim. Congratulations to the winners and to Voice of Democracy Auxiliary Chairman, Wilma Zech for a job well done.

WASHINGTON BALL

On Feb 17th VFW Lorain County Council will be having this annual affair. Host this year will be VFW Post 451 in Lorain. If you are interested in attending, check with your Post for tickets and more information.

NATIONAL HOME

Our Campbell labels are coming in good. The Home needs all that they can get. They are trying to get enough to get a Van for transportation for the Children. So please bring all you have to the Post marked for our Chairman, Shirley Wolfe. Thank you.

REMINDER

On the 24th, District 9 will host Voice of Democracy & Youth Essay Banquet at post 2529, Sandusky beginning at 5:00 PM. Tickets are $7.00 per person and will be held at the door.

REHABILITATION

Chairman Eleanor Rieth, who sends out your Get Well cards and Flowers, has undergone surgery, and is now at home recuperating. Get well soon, Eleanor; we miss you at our meetings.

REMEMBER

Auxiliary meetings are the 1st and the 3rd Tuesday of each month at 8:00 PM. We really need you, try to attend.
