Welcome
First off I will thank all of you who helped in any way to make our New Years party so enjoyable. We had 117 people at the party, lots of food, music, and everyone seemed to have a good time.
We had approximately the same amount in attendance at the Voice of Democracy and Youth Essay awards dinner. Thank you, Wilma & Conrad Zech, for the Voice of Democracy program, and thank you, Ed Selavko, for the Youth Essay program. I'm sure all the winners and their parents, teachers, grandparents, friends, and all who came to the Post enjoyed a wonderful evening and a delicious dinner. Thank you, Ladies in the Kitchen, for all your help.
I hate to report that Chaplain, Cliff Ledyard, suffered a stroke and will not be able to join us for a while. We all hope and pray that he will get better and rejoin us at the Post. Comrade Marshall Williams is filling in for now as Chaplain.

World War II veterans are the last generation with personal knowledge of the horrors suffered by those caught up in the period now known as the Holocaust. Increasingly, revisionists are claiming those sufferings were either exaggerated or did not exist. It is important that the witnesses of American Veterans be obtained and preserved to dispute such apologists. Persons interested in participating in the project should write out at home their recollections. These should include, where possible, the location of the camp, the date the witness was there, and such other information that may be offered. Reports received will be scanned to compact discs and given to State and Military historical organizations. Original reports will be offered to the Holocaust Museum in Washington, DC. I am not authorized to accept verbal reports but, if you need any help, please call me at the Post.365-0703 and I will gladly give you all the help I can.

On Jan 2, 2002, I had the great honor to carry the Olympic torch .2ths of a mile in Akron, OH. I will never forget that day as long as I live. And thanks to the Coca Cola Co. for allowing me to keep the torch that I carried. It was really a great honor for myself and the Post to be selected from among 210,000 entrants to carry the flame on its way to Salt Lake City. And thanks to all who traveled to Akron to cheer me on. God Bless & Keep You All, John F Polgar, Commander.
