Ponderings by the Commander:
The new officers have been installed and will assume their duties immediately after the State Convention, June 22 thru the 26th, 2005. Some of my officers will be attending, but it should be noted that the expenses WILL NOT be taken from the Post general fund.
It is hard to believe this will be my last newsletter to you, and because it is I want you to know that it has been a great privilege serving you as Commander. I thank my officers for their continuous support and my Committee Chairmen for their hard work. They were my army.
You know I can’t forget the ladies who served you in the kitchen the past two years for me. Rosalie West, Marie LePore & Vivian Urig. I’ve seen them go home exhausted, especially after preparations for our annual Picnic. Thank You !!
The Post is losing a dedicated comrade with the retirement of Frank West. Frank served as Quartermaster of our Post for 22 years. The Post also lost a dedicated comrade with the retirement of Larry Krugman as our Judge Advocate. It will be difficult to fill their shoes. We have two good men who I know personally will try real hard.
I wish to thank all the Buddy Poppy volunteers who helped and donated their time for a good cause.
District 9 meeting & election will be on Sunday, June 5th at Post 7576 Vermilion. Registration at 9 a.m. Meeting begins at 10 a.m/
Lorain Conty Councl will be at North Ridgeville Post 9871 on Tuesday, June 14th, FLAG DAY. Don’t forget to fly your colors. Show your PATRIOTISM! God Bless…………Steve
HONOR GUARD REMINDER

CANTEEN NEW
I had the pleasure of seeing my very first enrollment of the new Post & Ladies Auxiliary officers. It was very impressive. The program with the Southview R.O.T.C was very impressive and brought more than a few tears from most.
Congratulations to all the new officers. I look forward to working with all of you.
I’d like to take a moment to thank Frank West for all his help since I started. Thank you very much, Frank; you were a very big help to me and I hope you enjoy your retirement. But that doesn’t mean staying away from the Post you love so much.

It has been my pleasure to serve as your Quartermaster for the last 22 years, and I thank you for putting up with me for such a long time. I hope my service as QM & News Editor has been to your satisfaction. Alan “Jay” Arnett will be taking over the office as of June 26th. I’m sure that Jay will do an excellent job, so give him your support. If I can ever be of help, just call. So long for now…Good Luck & God Bless! Frank T. West, QM
