Welcome

Congratulations to Marshall Williams for being chosen VFW Post 1079 "Veteran of the year". This honor was bestowed at the Veterans Day Tureen Dinner held at the Post on November 11th. Gary Pfaff, Department Judge-Advocate from Post 8794, Reynoldsburg, was the guest speaker for the evening and delivered a fine talk on a timely subject. We had a very nice turn-out for this affair.

Pearl Harbor Day, December 7, 1941

The Post will remember this "Day of Infamy" with a service commencing at 11 a.m. in the Post Hall. Stop in and join us in remembrance of those who lost their lives on this date, forcing our entry into World War II.

District 9 Meeting

Will be hosted by Post 3343, Clyde , on Sunday, December 3, 2000. Registration at 9 a.m. followed by the meeting at 10 a.m.

Salvation Army

Table set up in Canteen for donation of non-perishable food for the needy. Give what you can.

Children's Christmas Party

The Christmas Party for the kids will be held on December 17, 2000. If any questions, see Charlie Crabeels, Chrn.

New Year's Eve Party

Tickets for this affair are available until December 23 in the Canteen, and are limited. The price of $18.00 per person covers everything for the evening. Join us in celebrating the ACTUAL beginning of a new millennium (2001). Have fun with your Buddies & Gals and dance to the music of the "BELLAIRES". CANTEEN will open at 6 p.m., 12/31, and on New Year Day from 11 a.m. 'til end of game.

Ladies Auxiliary News

B Lorraine Cragin - President

Membership - We are doing quite well in our MEMBERSHIP, but there are still a few out there that haven't paid their dues for this year (2001). We really need for you to send in your dues of $18.00 for the year. We are now 86% Paid, needing 134 to be 100%. Please, if you are one of these, won't you send your dues to Cathereine Eckhart, c/o the Post. Thank you!

Rehabilitation - If you, or a member, are ill, and you would like your name on the Sick Board in the Canteen, please call our Rehab. Chairman, Eleanor Reith. She is the one that sends the cards and flowers while you are in the hospital, not the workers in the Canteen. Thank you.

Americanism - If you have a torn Flag that needs to be disposed of, please bring it to the Post and the Officers will dispose of it for you in the proper way. You may also purchase a replacement Flag in the Post Canteen.

Hospital - Our hospital treats for Brecksville are on the 4th Wednesday of each month. If you would like to go to some of these treats, our Post Van leaves at 6 p.m

Our Holiday Tureen will be on December 19. Please bring a Covered Dish with something good in it. Also, for the USO in Cleveland, we are asking you to bring white sox, hats and gloves, or something that you think they would need. These thing will be taken in in time for Christmas. Our Tureen will begin at 6:30 p.m. Sharp!

Our District 9 Hospital Treat for the Ohio Veterans Home will be on the 9th of December, at 12:00 Noon in the Great Room. If you would like to donate a little time, please be there by 9 a.m. The Veterans there appreciate all that you do for them.

The Auxiliary wishes to thank everyone that brought in Christmas cards for the Ohio Veterans Home and Golden Acres Nursing Home. The Golden Acres Christmas treat will be on the 21st at 7 a.m. Keep saving those Campbell's Labels.

The Children's Christmas Party will be on the 17th. Sign up sheet in the Canteen. Birth age to 10 years for attendance.

Our Auxiliary would like to Wish everyone a Very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

To those that are ill we wish a speedy recovery. To those that have lost a loved one, our deepest Sympathy.
